We woke up to a bright and crisp February day, Lauren and Jay’s long-awaited wedding day! We headed down to Canton beneath brilliant blue skies to meet Lauren at her parents’ home. We had anticipated the day for so long, as Lauren was the sister of our former groom, and we absolutely love their family!
Lauren was a perfect vision of poise and elegance. Every hair was intricately pincurled into a stunning updo at the base of her neck. She wore a clean and polished white satin gown with buttons all down the back and a fitted high-neck shawl that completed the look.
(Lauren got the day started on the right foot, with a few snuggles with her beloved Simese-Himilayan furry friend named Clark.)
Once Lauren and her five lovely bridesmaids in navy blue empire-waisted gowns were dressed and ready to go, we headed to St. Peter Catholic Church in downtown Canton, an ornate Gothic-style cathedral with a white-washed interior. Midday light poured in through the stained glass windows and flooded the sanctuary with faint colors and patterns.
After a few quick photos of Jay in the sacristy, the organ resounded and the members of the bridal party made their way up the isle. As Fr. Bob led Lauren and Jay through their wedding vows, time stood still. In tears of joy and sincerity, these two pledged their lives to one another surrounded by their family and closest friends.
After a grand exit from the church and a speedy family portrait session at the altar, we headed out to some of the city’s best photo locations—the Onesto Lofts, the front facade of the Canton Courthouse, and the impressive steps of the McKinley Monument. Despite the cold, we were living a photographer’s dream!
The theme of grand architecture continued at La Pizzaria’s Fresco Room, where the cocktail hour was underway upon our arrival. The intricate woodwork, tray ceilings, and pillars offered a grand yet intimate atmosphere for Lauren and Jay’s reception.
After a handful of sweet speeches, a prayer, a family-style feast, and the cutting of the seven-layer frosted wedding cake, the party began, for which Lauren changed into an ivory satin tiered dress. After all the kiddos danced themselves to exhaustion, the bigger kids took over to dance the night away! Joe, Ryan, and Justin from Russell Sound Lab kept the party going and the energy up all night!
Congratulations to a beautiful and very sincere couple! Lauren and Jay, we witnessed between the two of you the same care and commitment that you both brought to the planning of your wedding day. May that focus and respect be ever present in your marriage as you build your dreams together!
